At Times Square in Manhattan.
3
The 'Toys "R" Us' on Times Square in Manhattan is the biggest toy store in the world. Inside one finds this robot dinosaur, a "human size" Barbie mansion and a ferris wheel.

With 1,945 rooms, the Marriott Marquis at Times Square is one of the biggest hotels in New York. On the upper-most floor, the 45th, is New York's only revolving restaurant.
6
Most rooms of the Marquis hotel do not face Times Square because still in 1985 when it was opened, the area had a bad reputation.
7
Looking at all the advertisement banners on Times Square. This looks more interesting at night.
8
In the foreground 'Virgin Records' on Times Square.
9
The contrast of old and new near Times Square.
10
On our way to the bus tour that we reserved for the weekend.
11
The building on the right side is the office of Gray Lines that did our bus tour through New York. The cladding on the front hides the old bricks of the building.
12
This is how one lives in New York. In the background a high-rise with lots of apartments and in the foreground a row of the old apartment buildings which usually rise up to five or six floors, just right for not having an elevator.
13
High buildings have to have their own water towers on the roof to not influence the water pressure in Manhattan too much. Those watertowers are built from wood to not change the taste of the water too much. Also, there are usually at least two of them on each building, one for drinking water, the other one for fire water.
14
Here the poles are used well. Direction signs for the Lincoln tunnel, street names, markers for one way streets and parking restrictions.
15
Since the streets of Manhattan are all one-way streets, people park on both sides. When all spots are occupied, short stops even happen in the second row.

The same street again.
