Description of the Fortuna Fountain.

Fama Fountain Completed in 1884-85 by Rudolf Maison, the Fama Fountain is based on a fountain at the royal palace La Granja de San Ildefonso in Spain. The main motif is Fama, the winged figure of fame, mounted on a horse (Pegasus). On the east side of the rocky pyramid are the allegories of 'War', 'Victory', 'History' and 'Nature'. On the west side are 'Envy', 'Hate' and 'Guile', which are depicted tumbling from the rock. Round the edge of the basin are mythological figures and putto groups.
