Germany 2010

Germany vacation April 1st through 23rd 2010. The trip was extended by the icelandic volcano by a few days. We went to Oldenburg, Bad Zwischenahn, Hamburg, Laboe, Kiel, Lübeck, Munich, Walsrode, Bremerhaven and Groningen in the Netherlands.

Aft torpedo tube and (right) an ejector piston, which pushed the torpedo out the tube using pressurized air. A reserve torpedo was stored below the floor boards.

The two battery-fed electric engines with 375 hp each brought the submerged boat to a maximum of 7.6 kn. At only 2 kn the boat could go for a maximum of 130 nm, at 4 kn only 80 nm.
