Crew space

This cabin with 12 berths is identical with those of the XXI type. For the enlisted personnel onboard the self-contained rooms with a comparitively large number of berths were quite a progress from their "accomodation" on earlier submarines (shared berths along the sub's alleyways).

On WILHELM BAUER 12 petty officers lived on the right side, 8 chief betty officers on the left side. All rooms are connected to the central ventilation supply and ventilation exhaust system. Total number of berths on the type XXI: 51.

Underneath the floor the third battery room with 2 x 62 accumulator cells is situated.
