Germany 2010

Germany vacation April 1st through 23rd 2010. The trip was extended by the icelandic volcano by a few days. We went to Oldenburg, Bad Zwischenahn, Hamburg, Laboe, Kiel, Lübeck, Munich, Walsrode, Bremerhaven and Groningen in the Netherlands.

Behind this door is the toilet. It served as a storage room for provisions, so it was unavailable at the early part of the voyage.

Galley and Reserve Toilet

The cook is a very important man on every ship, but on a submarine he is also an artist. The reserve toilet held supplies - so it was unusable for the first part of the voyage.

Non-commissioned officer's sleep and living room

The U-room accommodated non-commissioned officers (Petty officer first and second class). Two men shared one bunk - one was on watch, the other stayed in here. The room below was the battery compartment.
